Founders today have more options than ever for early support. But accelerators, venture capital firms and venture studios are built for different moments — and offer very different levels of involvement.
Accelerators
Accelerators run fixed-length cohort programmes, usually three to six months. They offer mentorship, a small investment and a demo day. They are a good fit for teams that already have a product and want structure and visibility.
Venture capital
VC firms invest in companies that already show traction. Partners advise and open doors, but the founding team does the building. Involvement is strategic, not operational.
Venture studios
Studios engage earliest — often before a company exists. They contribute operators, engineers and designers who build alongside the founder. Involvement is deep and operational, and the studio's equity stake reflects that.
Choosing the right path
Ask yourself what you are missing. If it's capital to scale something proven, look to VC. If it's structure and a network, an accelerator helps. If it's the team and execution muscle to get from idea to product-market fit, a studio is designed for exactly that.
